A TIME TO FIGHT AND A TIME TO STOP FIGHTING

(Written by OLABISI DAVID)
Sister Bola sat gently by a corner of the church studying her Bible. It has been her usual practice in the last five months to set an hour apart every week to commune deeply with God in the church. "Wale!!!" She heard clearly in her spirit man. Is Brother Wale in trouble and needs to be interceded for? What could this mean Lord, she asked.
After some months of prayers and spiritual guidance from the Pastor, Bola and Wale understood that it was God's intention for them to be husband and wife and they began their courtship. They were two people who truly loved the Lord or so we thought. Wale is the leader of the church prayer team, fervent in the Spirit serving the Lord!
News were flying around of Wale's sexual escapades with some sisters in the church. Bola initially disregarded the news, when it became frequent with glaring evidences pointing at the truth, she confronted him, he confessed to the crime and promised not to engage in such again. It didn't take long again before he was in another mess again and it went on and on.
'Virtuous' sister Bola, held on to God's word that Wale is her future partner and graciously forgave him each time he was in this mess and she kept on praying and believing God that soon he will be delivered from this weakness. They got married and things moved from bad to worse. He started bringing ladies to their matrimonial bed. About two years into their marriage, Bola got a new job and was required to carry out some medical tests as part of the entry requirements. Bola holds her test result in her hands, she can't believe she has AIDS. On investigation, she got it from Wale who has constantly kept the marriage bed defiled.

Dear young lady,
I understand how much you love him and how convinced you are that he is the will of God for you. But you see dear, people change, born again today, born against tomorrow. He might have truly given his life to Christ, but He has collected it back and all the signs are staring you in the face but because you have invested so much time and all into this relationship, you are not getting any younger and everyone already knows you both together you would rather patch things and keep praying that things get better rather than walking away. Where do you want to start from! He will change you say! Marriage doesn't change anyone. Even if you want to pray for him to change, make sure you don't go any further in that relationship. The danger signs are signal of things to come, please do not ignore. It is probably time for you to stop fighting for that relationship and let go of the relationship. A broken engagement of many years is way better than a marriage full of sorrow and pains. Shine your eyes and don't ignore! May the Lord give you courage to walk away. We'll keep you in our prayers.
